There probably is a 'correct technical name' for this tool but we've never heard it referred to anything other than 'farmer jack' and we've never found a tool better at what it does: lifts, pulls, clamps and spreads just about anything you want with up to 7,000 lbs of brute force--and does it in a hurry with minimal setup or adjustment.
